Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October 21, 2022
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Arlington Team wore pink for a day in honor of those who have and are still battling this disease.
To commemorate the day, we gathered for a group picture around a tree we planted on Earth Day in 2021 in honor of our late Housekeeping Supervisor, Becky, who battled breast cancer. The tree was in bloom with beautiful pink flowers, which couldn't have been more fitting.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to educate women about breast cancer and teach them tests for early detection. It was also brought forth to encourage women to get mammograms, an important tool in the fight against breast cancer. During the month of October, we celebrate the victories with survivors and encourage them to share their stories. This month is also dedicated to raising funds for research and related causes.
Be sure to schedule a breast cancer screening if you are due or have noticed any changes. October is a great month to provide support for someone you know who is battling breast cancer. This can look as simple as baking them a meal or asking if there is anything they need help with.
If you or someone you know is experiencing any signs or symptoms of breast cancer, visit your healthcare provider. Please know you are not alone in this fight.
